Pete Davidson shows respect Avoids Kim Kardashian jokes during ‘SNL’ hosting gig

Pete Davidson’s relationship with Kim Kardashian—he famously kissed her during a “Saturday Night Live” skit—seems like perfect material for the popular comedy show, but we’ve heard that he won’t make fun of the reality star when he hosts for the first time in two weeks.

A source says that Davidson is expected to be “a good sport” about comments about his public life, but he wants to stay away from Kardashian. “He’s being a gentleman,” says a person in the know. We’ve been told that when the couple, who started dating in October 2021 and broke up nine months later in August 2022, they both decided to “drop everything” and “move on.”

“That’s why he doesn’t talk about her in his stand-up,” says a person in the know. Kanye West, her ex-husband, often said bad things about the “King of Staten Island” star on social media. He even made a video for his song “Eazy” in which a cartoon version of Davidson was kidnapped and buried.

West also rapped about “beating Pete Davidson‘s ass” and shared a fake front page of the New York Times with the title “SKETE DAVIDSON DEAD AT THE AGE OF 28.” “Skete” was the name the shamed rapper gave to Davidson. The person went on to say,

“He respects the fact that her team is so careful about her image and that Kanye was so angry about it.” Davidson, who has been open about his mental health problems, apparently went to “trauma therapy” after West’s comments.

A source told People, “The attention and negativity coming from Kanye and his antics is a trigger for [Pete], and he’s had to seek help.” Davidson has dated Ariana Grande, Kate Beckinsale, Kaia Gerber, and Phoebe Dynevor.

He also said on John Bernthal’s “Real Ones” show that “SNL” made fun of his love life when he worked there. “When your own show makes fun of you, you have to go out and do a sketch and hit your mark. The show just made fun of you.”

“And you’re like, ‘I’m a fucking loser, man,'” the star of “Bodies, Bodies, Bodies” said. Davidson went on to say, “[SNL creator] Lorne Michaels gave me more freedom and grace than anyone else, and I owe my life to that guy, but it was fucked up because entertainment is the nature of this business.”

At the end of the day, that’s all it comes down to. This was a very hard job to do. You feel small. You’re quite self-conscious.” Another source said that they wouldn’t be surprised if the show had a joke or two about the Kardashians.

“Nothing has been written yet, but you should know that with Pete, nothing is off the table,” says another person. From 2014 to 2022, Davidson was a cast member on the show. People say that she is “nervous” about being the host on May 6.

“Even though it was his home for many years, he’s still nervous,” a person said. “It’s delicious.” Davidson and Kardashian kissed on the show during a “Aladdin”-themed sketch in October 2021. Soon after that, they went out together, and Davidson got a tattoo of Jasmine and Aladdin.

Davidson will be on the show soon after getting back from the Met Gala, which he is said to be going to by himself.  He is working with Chase Sui Wonders right now. Michaels is one of the producers of Davidson’s new Peacock show, “Bupkis,” which he is touring to promote.

Charlie Day, Al Gore, Bobby Cannavale, John Mulaney, La La Anthony, and Davidson’s best friend Machine Gun Kelly are said to be coming to the party.
