Kelly Clarkson’s 8-Year-Old Daughter Battles Bullies

Kelly Clarkson is saddened as a parent because her disabled daughter is made fun of at school. On her daily talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, the fiery singer said that her 8-year-old daughter River Rose is having trouble in school. Her friends make fun of her because she has trouble reading. Henry Winkler was there to listen to her story. Like her, he has trouble reading.

“I was driving my daughter to school yesterday, and she has dyslexia,” Clarkson said. “You told me that you have dyslexia, too,” she says. “It’s crazy to tell my daughter that you have dyslexia and have written like 40 books!” Clarkson says that River is “being picked on” because she has trouble learning.

The happy mother had to stop and get a Kleenex to wipe away her tears. The same number of her peers said that she couldn’t read. The mother of two tried to make her daughter feel better about herself by telling her that she isn’t the only one with dyslexia.

A lot of famous people, like Anthony Mackie and Zachary Levi, have trouble with it. “It gave her confidence that you guys were so open about it,” she said of how her daughter felt about the news. Winkler welcomed River into the “dyslexia club” with open arms.

“She’s part of the tribe,” he says proudly. When the actor looked right into the camera, it made River feel even better. “How you learn has nothing to do with how smart you are, River.” Yes, without a doubt! Clarkson couldn’t agree more, as her tears showed.

She says she “didn’t know how common” dyslexia is among kids because she “didn’t know.” Clarkson told a joke to lighten the mood: “My makeup artist is going to kill me.” After seven years of marriage, the singer got a split from her ex-husband, who was also her manager.

Even though she said the situation had been hard, she is glad to be able to show her kids a new normal. Soon after they split up, she and Blackstock took their kids on vacation. River is their only child, but they also have a seven-year-old son named Remington Alexander.

“The last few years have been hard, so I had to take a break.” “The kids were with their father and me,” she said on the Today Show after the family trip. She says, “It was nice because they usually have to travel a lot because we live so far apart.”

“So, we were both in Montana, and I think it was the first time my kids felt more balanced.” Before the part with Winkler finished, Clarkson shed a few more happy tears.
