Instagram model Gena Tew is going through a difficult time right now. The social media star recently disclosed that she had received an AIDS diagnosis. She underwent eye surgery, and now she is dealing with new problems.

According to a TMZ report, the TikTok celebrity underwent eye surgery and as a result, is totally blind in one eye. Read on to find out what happened to Gena Tew and how she is feeling right now.

What happened to Gena Tew, an Instagram model?

Gena Tew has lost her vision in one eye. The Instagram model underwent surgery in August of this year, according to the news source TMZ, after her HIV diagnosis caused her to lose vision in her left eye.

There was a faint hope that the operation would eventually bring back her vision. Gena has disclosed to the media that she has once again gone totally blind in that eye.

Tew continued by stating that the only thing she can see out of her left eye is complete darkness. Close sources told the media that following the procedure, her vision improved for about five days before it returned to normal.

The social media sensation claimed that despite the doctors’ recommendations, the new medications had only made her worse. The physicians are currently considering performing another surgery. No decision has yet been taken by the medical community.

The Instagram influencer later wrote on her Instagram profile, “I don’t know who gave it to me or where I got it; all I know is that they stated I had to have had it for eight to ten years because I was so ill to the point of death. I was homeless and living in New York City at the time.

In addition, Tew revealed that she had received free tattoos, indicating that it “might have been from a filthy needle.” She added that while residing in New York, she had been assaulted.
